Join us on Saturday, July 12, 2025, for the exciting return of the 17th Annual LG Tri and 13th Annual Kids Tri, a sprint triathlon in the beautiful and spacious Vail Valley town of Gypsum, Colorado! This is a great race for first-timers and seasoned pros alike. We run this race in loving memory of Laura Genelin, a VVCF grant recipient who lost her battle to cancer. Proceeds benefit Vail Valley Charitable Fund.

Course Description
The Kids Triathlon starts after the Adult Tri is finished. Timing should be around 10 am, so please arrive by 9:00am at the very latest to make sure you are ready to go.
The LG Kids Tri will be divided into two age groups:
- 7 to 10-year-olds: 40-yard swim (out and back), 3.2-mile bike ride, and 3/4-mile run.
- 11 to 13-year-olds: 100-yard swim (out and back), 5-mile bike ride, and 1-mile run.
NOTE: 6-year-olds are welcome to race with the 7-10 year old group as long as the child is comfortable with the course.
Kayakers and SUPs with water rescue personnel will be the in pond ensuring everyone is safe. When done with the swim, you will head back into the transition area, ensuring that you cross the timing pad. Then you begin the bike ride, which will mostly be in the Brightwater development, and then finish with the run!
Open Water Swim: A wetsuit is recommended. A practice swim is scheduled for June 25th from 5-6:30pm, so join us to get the lay of the land and overcome any fears you might have about this portion of the race!
